What, exactly, do you do?
We restore your ceiling to as good as new by spraying it with a specialist coating,
which has been developed specifically for this purpose.
But my ceiling is in a terrible condition, covered with nicotine and water stains. Can you still do it?
Yes! The coating is a stain blocker. There will be no bleed-through of nicotine or
water stains after we have completed the works.
Do you spray the tiles and the grid at the same time?
Yes. But the coating is non-bridging, so the tiles and grid will not stick together.
You can take the tiles out for maintenance as soon as they are dry.
I have a different colour grid and tile. What do we do about that?
We can spray them in so that they are the same colour, or we can mask the grid
and just spray the tiles. The choice is yours.
What about the mess from paint-spraying?
There is no mess. We mask up the area we are spraying so that we are enclosed in a
bubble of polythene. Only the ceiling is left uncovered and all lights, smoke detectors,
etc are covered before spraying begins.
What about the Fire Rating and the acoustic qualities of the tiles?
They remain intact. The coating is assessed to a Class "0" Fire Rating and will
not affect the acoustic properties of the tiles.
Will we have to close our premises while the work is done?
No. We will work when your premises are shut or when the room is not being used.
Is there any mess?
No. We completely sheet up the area and we take all our mess away with us. There will
be no evidence that we have been there except for a new-looking ceiling.
How long will a sprayed ceiling last, compared to a new ceiling?
Your sprayed ceiling will last as long as a new tile would in any particular
environment, so it's impossible to put a time limit on it. Basically, as long
as a new tile would.
Is there anything we need to do before you arrive on site?
Yes. Clear the working area as much as possible and remove any curtains that are
going to stop us reaching the edge of the ceiling.
How much does it cost, compared to a new ceiling?
Roughly a third of the cost.
I can buy new tiles for about the same as the cost of spraying. Why shouldn't I do that?
Yes, you can buy a cheap tile for the same metre price. However, you then have to take
the old tiles out and dispose of them, clean up the grid system, which is labour
intensive, change the lights, install the new tiles, clean up the working area,
lose business due to the room having to close and, because you are buying new tiles,
create a larger carbon footprint.
We have a handyman who can just paint our tiles with emulsion and this is much cheaper. Why shouldn't I do this?
Painting by hand will stick the tiles and grid together, making future maintenance
above the tiles impossible. Also, the Fire Rating of the tile will be null and void,
the acoustics of the room will be damaged and the results will look awful.
It is also quite possible that the paint will become stained and will flake off
within a few months.
